The Torres Brothers attend the 2nd Welcome Party hosted by FISAN at Vida&Comida Xperiences
The great festival celebrating Salamanca’s Iberico products arrives once again this year: the International Forum of the Iberico product, an occasion that prompted the second edition of FISAN’s Welcome Party. This gathering was held on Sunday 27th of October, bringing friends, clients and FISAN’s providers to kick off one of the most informative events in our sector.
This year, two of the most important chefs in Spanish haute cuisine participated in our Welcome Party: Sergio and Javier Torres, who brought to us some of the tasting menu courses offered at their restaurant, COCINA HERMANOS TORRES (Spanish for Torres Brothers’ kitchen). Sergio and Javier delighted our guests by show cooking three dishes using FISAN acorn-fed products: beans with Iberico consommé, cod prepared pil pil-style with FISAN Alta Gastronomía acorn-fed ham and acorn-fed pluma cut marinated in a sauce made with Iberico ham.
We finished the meal with a tasting of our acorn-fed cold meats and our FISAN Alta Gastronomía 2012 Reserva Privada acorn-fed Iberico ham, a special collection that was cured for over a hundred months. Additionally, the owner of Vida&Comida, Alfredo Matallana, and his team prepared another one of the exclusive dishes served during the event: “Acorn-fed Presa, boletus and cured yolk prey”.
The 2nd FISAN Welcome Party took place in Vida&Comida Xperiences, a roguish and groundbreaking space where Eva, Javier and Florencio Sánchez hosted this FISAN event.
Our special celebration revolving around Iberico products welcomed prominent guests, among them, were renowned cuisine experts and journalists specialised in the sector, such as Jose Carlos Capel and Julia Pérez Lozano; distinguished chefs, like José Carlos Fuentes; and important representatives of the Iberico-sphere. Also present, were council delegates from Salamanca City Hall Daniel Llanos and Almudena Parres.
The great atmosphere and the anticipation of our guests created the perfect setting to present our partnership with the Torres brothers and our Alta Gastronomía Limited Edition Vintage 2015 Ham. We also displayed the new ham case designed for the occasion of our 100th Anniversary this coming 2020. This luxury package contains three packs of acorn-fed Alta Gastronomía Iberico ham from the Reserva Privada 2012 -a special collection that was cured for a period of 100 months-, which include three different cuts: cushion, fore cushion and tip. Moreover, in the case we added a book commemorating FISAN’s centenary, where we mentioned important details about the culture surrounding Iberico ham, our history and some of our best-kept secrets.
A night packed with emotions, but above anything else, Iberico flavour!
